She departed this life Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. Roxie was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, Columbus. Roxie was educated in the public schools of Tangipahoa Parish and continued her education in Columbus at Franklin University. She received a bachelor's degree in public administration from Capital University. She also received a diploma in office automation from M.A.T.A. College of Automation. Her husband, George Philmore; son, Mark Philmore Sr.; parents, Leslie Jerome Mabry Sr. and Irene Edwards Mabry; grandparents, Tommie Edwards, Verna Edwards, Karrie Catchings, Leslie Mabry and Tobe Catchings; sisters, Annie T. Chatman and Irene Mabry- Daniels; and aunts, Myrtle Stanford and Lillie C. Lindsey, preceded her in death. She is survived by three sons, Miles Davis and wife Carey, Berea, Ohio, Berdies Davis III and wife Judith, Clinton, Md., and Terry Philmore Sr., Akron, Ohio; five daughters, Leisa Davis Rogers and husband Charles, Westerville, Ohio, Sharon Davis, Columbus, Debra Philmore Stroud and husband Dennis, Robin Philmore, and Kim Majors and husband Karl, all of Akron; daughter-in-law, Vivianne Philmore, Columbus; five brothers, Edward Mabry and wife Lynn, Boling Brook, Ill., John M. Mabry and wife Shirley, Independence, Leslie M. Mabry Jr., Amite, Willie E. Mabry, Monroe, and Eddie J. Mabry and wife Karen, Atascadero, Calif.; three sisters, Wardine Gordon and husband Charles, Baton Rouge, Shirley Fields and husband Lawrence, Carson, Calif., and Mary E. Mabry-Holmes, Los Angeles; sister-in-law, Patricia S. Mabry, Hammond; 20 grandchildren, Sharon, Miles Jr., Shandon, Aaliyah, Aaric, Corbin, Shauon, Halle', Aarielle, Berdies, Maegan, Terry Jr., Danielle, Mark II, Denise, Desiree, Katya Deidra, Kamaria and Kennedy; three great-grandchildren, Jada, Aurelia and Nyla; special friends and extended family, Ann Heidelburg- Adams and the entire Heidelburg Family, Sandra, Glenda and Wanda Stamps and entire Stamps family; and host of other relatives and friends. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church, 858 E. 3rd Ave, Columbus, on Tuesday, May 17, at 7 p.m. Charles H.
