Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Louella Deamer; four sisters and three brothers. A retired welder and a lifelong resident of Baywood, he died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was 76. Visitation at Cedar Grove Church of God in Christ, Pride-Baywood Road, Baywood, from 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, until religious service at 7 p.m., conducted by Elder E. Shannon. Dismissal at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment in church cemetery. He leaves to cherish his memory four sons and three daughters-in-law, Huey Jr. and wife Betty of Baton Rouge, Johnny and wife Felicia of Hammond, Carl of Baton Rouge and Melvin Sr. and wife Gladys of Baywood; two daughters, Deirdre and husband Terrance Turner of Baywood and Deborah Grimes of New Orleans; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Robert C.
