A resident of Louisiana since January 1959, Julia was retired from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. She leaves behind her children, Barry James Decker and wife Deborah of Colorado, Nancy Decker Howes Spearman and husband Art of Loranger, Janice Decker Rodriguez and husband John "Jean Pierre" of Tickfaw, Scott Decker and wife Jackie of Tickfaw, Denise Decker Pecoraro and husband Joe of Loranger; ten grandchildren, Jepthath Decker and wife Cassie, Danielle Decker, Stephen Troy Howes Jr., Jeremy Louis Howes and wife Dana, Andrew Vernon Howes, TiJohn "Jean Revierre" Rodriguez and wife Michelle, Mark Rodriguez and wife Holly, Christina Rene/ Decker Lacara and husband Sammie, Courtney James Decker and wife Tisha, Nicholas Kyle Decker and wife Brandy, Jack L. Lee and wife Marianne, Nichelle Lee; great- grandchildren, Alexis Decker, Troy and Sean Howes, Miranda and Maison Howes, Jordan, Haley and Ashley Howes, Macie Marie and Maddie Katherine Rodriguez, Mitchell Justin, Hailey Noel and Mia Jeanne Rodriguez, Loren Riley and Logen Scott Lacara, Landyn James and Gavyn Lane Decker, Destiny Hope, Nicholas Kyle and Alex James Decker, Kayla and Jayden Lee. Julia is also survived by her "very special friend and neighbor" Ms. Mary Margaret Millet. Preceding Julia in death were her parents, James and Bertha Szalay; three brothers and three sisters, Joseph, Balint and Frank Szalay, Margaret Szalay Boehm, Helen Szalay TenYck, Elsie Szalay; special friends, Charles and Dorothy "Dootle" Bab. He was a wonderful person to be around and he was loved very much by his wife, children, grandchildren, parents, siblings and friends. At the age of 53, Timmy has now joined his brother, Bill Decker, in eternal peace with Christ on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees and was a member of Jefferson American Legion Post 3267. Timmy is survived by his wife, Vicki Decker; four sons and three daughters, Timothy Decker Jr., Thomas Decker, Tony Territo, Tyler Decker, Eugenie Decker, Emily Decker and Taylor Eisler; and his granddaughter, Rayleigh Decker. He leaves behind his mother, Dorothy Desemar, of Hammond; father and stepmother, Clarence and Helen Decker, of Metairie.
