Mr. Decota was a avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed, hunting, fishing and the LSU Tigers. Surviving are his wife, Anna Sziber Decota; daughter & son-in-law, Debbie Decota Edwards and Travis; son & daughter-in-law, Adam "Al" Decota and Margaret; sister, Eve Hoover; 5 grandchildren, Amy Edwards Newsham and husband Brad, Travis Edwards, Dustin Edwards, Chris Decota and wife Erin, Kevin Decota and wife Jessica; 3 great-grandchildren, Decota Harris, Braelon Newsham, Mackenzie Decota; step-daughter, Theresa Metz and husband Jim; step-son, Andrew Sziber; step-grandchildren, Melody Murhee and husband Blake, Melissa Wynn and husband James, Eugene Metz,III and wife Alisson, William Metz, Eric Sziber, Yvette Ezell and husband Marcos; and 8 step-great- grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, May and Albert William Decota; first wife, Avis Barker Decota; son, Stephen Albert Decota; 2 sisters, Beatrice Moran, Pauline Lindsey; and brother, William "Bill" Decota. Friends will be received Wednesday, July 11, 2012, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula and on Thursday, July 12, 2012, after 8 a.m. until services begin at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Ponchatoula Cemetery. Survived by her husband, William "Billy" Decota, Wadesboro; son, Clinton Allen Decota, Wadesboro; two sisters, Sandra Hendon, Loranger, and Nadaine Anderson, Amite; three brothers, Alfred, Jerry and Steve Joiner, all of Loranger; and two grandchildren, Cody Decota and Kara Courturier.
