HOHENSEE A retired nurse with Villa Feliciana Medical Complex, Jackson, she went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Feb. 27, 2006. She died at her daughter's home in Des Allemands after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 72, born in Innis, reared in Donaldsonville and a resident of Wakefield. Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, was on Wednesday, March 1, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home Thursday from 11 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Joe Ratcliff. Interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery, Zachary. She is survived by three daughters, Diane Landry Vanacor, Des Allemands, Kathleen Landry Ward, Donaldsonville, and Mary Landry Piller, Baton Rouge; son, David W. Landry, Fort Smith, Ark.; daughter-in-law, Cathy Gueho Landry, Baton Rouge; sister, Rhoda Hohensee Verret, Denham Springs; two brothers, Albert Joseph Hohensee Jr., Haughton, and Donald Paul Hohensee Sr., Hammond; 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert J. and Etta Mae Hohensee Sr.; son, Frank Luke Landry Jr.; sister, Estelle Hohensee Stoner; and husband, Cecil Dedon. Funeral services for Joseph H. Dedon, 76, better know as "BaBa" to many people, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, in Sibille Funeral Home Chapel, Port Barre. Interment will follow in the Dedon-Bowman Cemetery in St. Francisville. He was a resident of Port Barre. He died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at Opelousas General Health System. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Joseph was born in Star Hill, and moved to Baton Rouge and was employed at Louisiana State Police headquarters for 30 years, then moved to Port Barre for the past 30 years. He enjoyed working on appliances and helping his friends with things they needed to do. Joseph loved his children, grandchildren and loved to be with them as much as he could. He was a past member of the Order of The Moose Lodge. Survivors include his former wife, Jerry Lynn Partin, of Clinton, Ark.; a son, Benjamin Joseph Dedon, of Krotz Springs; daughters, Flora D. Jarrell and her husband, Glenn, of Kentwood, "Misti" Frances Jo Dedon Gourgues, of Port Allen, and Bett Dedon, of Clinton, Ark.; sisters, Annie Mae "Ann" Littlefield and Edna Louise Garantine, of Greers Ferry, Ark., Ruby Elizabeth Stark, of Clinton, and Juanita Faye Boze, of Central; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Sr. and Annie Mae Ebey Dedon; and his brothers, Frank Jr. Lucien "Al" and Benjamin Dedon; and a grandson, Clay Taylor Minson. He went to be with the Lord at the age of 60 on Saturday, June 24, 2006, at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, S.D. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Dedon's flight is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday evening. Pending his arrival, visitation will be held on Thursday evening at Charlet Funeral Home in Zachary from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and then on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Port Hudson National Cemetery.
