He was then appointed as the first warden of Dixon Correctional. After retiring, he served as warden of the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison system. A native of Wilmer, Mr. Dees died Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at 10:05 a.m. at his home in Zachary. He was 83 and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
