DeJEAN, DOROTHY PHELPS
Dorothy Phelps DeJean, 70 years old of Ponchatoula, died Monday, June 8, 
2009, in St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She was born on Thursday, June 9, 
1938, in New Orleans.  Mrs. DeJean was a member of East Union Baptist 
Church in Magnolia, MS.  Surviving are her husband, Leon "Dut" DeJean, Sr.; 
daughter & son-in-law, Lynn DeJean and husband Edward Tyre, Jr.; 3 sons & 
daughters-in-law, Raymond DeJean, Sr. and wife Tana, Ronald DeJean, Sr. and 
wife Debra, and Leon DeJean, Jr. and wife Cynthia; 10 grandchildren, 
Kimberly Santa Marina, Edward Tyre, Raymond DeJean, Jr., Rashelle DeJean-
Greenwood, Jessica DeJean, Ronald DeJean, Jr., 
Christiana DeJean, Michelle Vandenborre, Hunter John DeJean, and Hayden 
Leon DeJean; 4 great-grandchildren, Marci Santa Marina, Ronald Eschete, 
Parker Layton, and Lillian Rose Tyre; 2 sisters, Nelda Phelps Harrell and 
Ann P. Burch Barber; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in 
death by her parents, Melvie Morgan and Albert A. Phelps; 4 brothers, T. C. 
Phelps, George Phelps, Cullen Phelps, and Curtis Phelps; and grandson, 
Michael Thomas Tyre.  Friends will be received Thursday, June 11, 2009, 
from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in 
Ponchatoula.  Visitation will continue Friday, June 12, 2009, from 
11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at East Union Baptist 
Church in Magnolia, MS.  Interment will follow in the East Union Baptist

DEJEAN, LEON C., SR.
Leon C. "Dut" DeJean Sr., 75 years old of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, and 
native of St. Bernard Parish, passed away Friday, October 7, 2011, at 
Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans.  He was born on Wednesday, December 
11, 1935, in New Orleans.  Surviving are his daughter & son-in-law, Lynn 
DeJean and Edward Tyre Jr.; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond DeJean Sr. 
and wife Tana, Ronald DeJean Sr. and wife Debra, Leon DeJean Jr. and wife 
Cynthia; 10 grandchildren, Kimberly Santa Marina, Edward Tyre, Raymond 
DeJean Jr., Rashelle DeJean Greenwood, Jessica DeJean, Ronald DeJean, Jr., 
Christina DeJean, Michelle Vandenborre, Hunter John DeJean, and Hayden Leon 
DeJean; 6 great-grandchildren, Marcia Santa Marina, Ronald Eschete, Parker 
Layton, Lillian Rose Tyre, Jackson Tyre, and Emma Kate DeJean; twin 
brother, Louis "Pete" DeJean Sr.; brother, Robert "Bobby" DeJean Sr.; 2 
sisters, Deanna Baudean and Marsha Brown; and sister-in-law, Ann Barber.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Phelps DeJean; father, Eugene 
DeJean; mother, Lillian Lang DeJean Munter; grandson, Michael Thomas Tyre; 
and brother, Gene DeJean.  Friends will be received at Harry McKneely & 
Son Funeral Home in Hammond, Sunday, October 9, 2011, from 5:00 pm until 
9:00 pm. Visitation will continue at East Union Baptist Church in Magnolia, 
MS on Monday, October 10, 2011, from 11:00 am until the funeral service at 
1:00 pm in the church.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Hunter DeJean, Eddie Tyre, Raymond DeJean Jr., Joe 
Bramlett, Ronnie DeJean Jr., and Bobby DeJean Jr. Honorary Pallbearer will
