He was 75 and a native of Simmesport. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He retired as a Sergeant First Class and was awarded the Purple Heart. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, after 8 a.m. Tuesday. Religious services at 9 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Coverdale, O.P., followed by prayer services in the chapel at 10 a.m. Interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery. Survived by three brothers, Louis "Jay" Delaney, Hammond, Johnny Delaney, Baton Rouge, and Samuel Delaney, Jeanerette; a son, Dennis Delaney, Walker; three granddaughters; and a great-grandson. She was 89, a resident of Hammond and a native of New Orleans. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Friday. Religious services at Holy Ghost Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Friday. Interment in Rose Memorial Cemetery. Survived by four brothers, Sam Delaney, Jeanerette, Johnny Delaney, Baton Rouge, and J.T. Delaney and Lawrence Delaney, both of Hammond; and nieces and nephews.
