She was a native of Albany and a housewife. She is survived by two sons, Warren Joseph Demonica of Slidell and Ciro Joseph Demonica Jr. of Albany; two daughters, Laura D. Robertson of Jefferson and Rose D. Briggs of Albany; one sister, Johnnie Mae Smith of Albany; seven grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ciro "Doc" Joseph Demonica Sr.; her parents, Warren and Winnie Mae White Collins; one grandchild and one great- grandchild; and one sister, Betty Jo Miley. Visitation will be today at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the funeral at 10. Preceded in death by an infant child; husband, Michael "Mike" Demonica; sister, Mae Perry Baham; infant sister; and two brothers, John and Clinton Perry. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star on: 3/20/2001 DiMODICA (DEMONICA), MARY ROSALYN New Orleans - Sister Mary Rosalyn Di Modica (Demonica), O.P., died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at the Dominican Sisters Motherhouse. Sister Mary Rosalyn, 90, was born Mary Teresa Di Modica (Demonica) in Hammond and served as a sister for 73 years. She earned a bachelor's degree in education from St. Mary's Dominican College in New Orleans. After pronouncing her first vows on May 27, 1928, Sister Mary Rosalyn taught at St. Leo the Great and St. John the Baptist in New Orleans; Mater Dolorosa in Independence; St. Peter in Reserve; St. Agnes in Baton Rouge; Holy Ghost in Hammond; and St. Joan of Arc in Laplace. Following her career, she adopted a more retired life of prayer at the Dominican Sisters Motherhouse. Survivors include a sister, Rose Demonica Schillace; and one stepsister, Sadie Ciolino Boeta. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred, Michael and Ciro Demonica; and a stepbrother, Salvadore Ciolino. Visitation will be tonight from 4 to 7 at the Dominican Sisters Motherhouse Chapel, 580 Broadway, New Orleans, with a prayer service at 4:45 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday from 9 a.m. until a funeral Mass at 10. Burial will be in the Dominican Sisters Cemetery in Rosaryville, Ponchatoula.
