DEMPSEY, JOHN RICHARD
John Richard Dempsey, 62 years old of Wiggins, MS, died Friday, October 20,
2006, at his residence.  He was born Saturday, October 14, 1944, in
Manhattan, Kansas, son of the late Gerald and Winnefred Louis Travis
Dempsey.  Surviving are his wife, Mickey Shelton Dempsey; son, James
Richard Dempsey; stepson, Zan Cockerham, daughters, Nita Leady and Nina
Cockerham; brother, Albert Dempsey; sister, Geraldine Van Loy; four
grandsons, 3 granddaughters, a great-grandson, many nieces, nephews,
brothers and sisters-in-law.  His sister, Judith Wallace, and nephew Jerry
Wallace also preceded him in death.  Friends will be received on Monday,
October 23, 2006, from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. and on Tuesday, October 24,
2006, from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home,
Hammond, Louisiana.  Services will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on
Tuesday, October 24, 2006, at 10 a.m. with Rev. James O'Keefe officiating.
Interment will follow in the Cooper Cemetery, Robert, Louisiana.  Email
