She was 78, a resident and native of Plaquemine. Visiting will be at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine on Thursday, Aug. 23, from 9am until Mass of Chirstian Burial at 12pm, celebrated by Father Cleo Milano. Interment Grace Memorial Park. She is survived by three daughters, Mary LeBlanc, Holly Springs, Miss., Bonnie Williams and husband Tony, Buras, La., and Kathleen Parden and husband Glenn, Homer, La.; three sons, Robert Denney III and wife Daphine, Plaquemine, Corey Denney, Kentwood, and Thomas Denney and Melissa, Plaquemine; a sister, Margaret Luna, Plaquemine; a brother, Joseph Brooks Jr., Plaquemine; 12 grandchildren, Ronald, Michael and Robert Rhea; Ashley McDow; Shawn Porter; Katie and Kalie Alberti; Kacie and Kyle Parden; Kristian, Kayla and Kevin Denney; eight great-grandchildren, two great- great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her first husband, Hubert Joseph LeBlanc; second husband, Robert Marvin Denney Jr; daughter, Cheryl Breaux; grandchildren, Christopher Breaux and Robert Denney IV; parents, Joseph Brooks Sr. and Frances Martin Brooks; sisters, Katherine Broussard and Ida Mae Ganaway; and brother, Charles Edward Brooks. Pallbearers will be Joseph R. Brooks, Jr.; Joseph Ganaway; Tony Williams, Glenn and Kyle Parden and Ronald Rhea. She loved to sew and crochet; she had a special talent for design. His father was one of the pioneer sugar men of Louisiana; the family lived in New Orleans for a number of years. Mr. Denny first practiced law in Ponchatoula, later moving to Hammond. Born in Bayou Goula, LA. Survived by widow, several children and a brother in Shreveport who is also an attorney.
