DENTON, JOHN WILLIAM, JR. 
John William Denton Jr., 70 years old of Hammond, died Tuesday, March 3,
2009 in North Oaks Medical Center. He was a native of St Bernard Parish.
He was born on Wednesday, February 1, 1939 in Marksville, son of the late
John W. and Edna Fones Denton Sr.  Surviving are his sisters, Rosalie
Miller of Springfield, LA, Opal McNabb of Springfield, TN; grandchildren,
John W. Denton IV, Jonathan, Kate and Kaylynn Denton all of St Bernard
Parish.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Mellouf Denton and
son, John W. Denton III; sister, Mary Jo Starkey; and a granddaughter,
Katie Denton.  Friends will be received Thursday, March 5, 2009, from 
6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Friday, March 6, 2009 from 9:00 am until the
service begins at 11:00 am at Woodland Baptist Church in Springfield.
Interment will follow in the Woodland Baptist Church Cemetery in
