He was 81 and a native of New Roads. Visiting and recitation of the rosary at Verrette's Funeral Home, New Roads, after 8 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30. Religious service at St. Augustine Catholic Church, New Roads, at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Interment at St. Augustine Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elenora Ann Britto DeRogers; six daughters, Mary DeRogers Davis, Cora Ann DeRogers Spurlock, Cathleen DeRogers, Edith DeRogers, Theresa M. DeRogers and husband Malcolm Martin, and Amanda DeRogers Green; six sons, Russell Jr., Donald, Ronald A., Paul, John and Perry DeRogers; sister, Mabel and husband Roger Ricard; brother, Albin DeRogers; sister-in-law, Phyllis and husband Frank Brooks; 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Veeler DeRogers and Cora Jack; stepmother, Estella Jack; brother, Herbert DeRogers, and two sisters, Dorothy DeRogers and Vernita DeRogers. He was a loving and faithful husband and father who went the extra mile to help his children. ***************************************************************************
