DESALVO, JOSEPH "BUD" 
Joseph "Bud" DeSalvo, 88, of Independence died on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005, at
North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. He was born on May 8, 1917, in
Independence, son of the late Charles and Patrina Costa DeSalvo. He was a
U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 109,
Independence. Surviving are his wife, Mary Catalano DeSalvo, Independence;
son, Vincent J. DeSalvo, Baton Rouge; four sisters, Rose Bonnemaison, Angel
Sellen and Jenny Calcagno, all of New Orleans, and Frances Spitale,
Hammond; grandson, Reed DeSalvo; and granddaughter, Brittany DeSalvo. He
was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew "Henry" DeSalvo; and two
sisters, Josephine Danna and Mary Vullo. Friends will be received at Harry
McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, on Wednesday, Aug. 10, from 8 a.m. to
10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church,
Hammond, at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Entombment in Colonial Cemetery
Mausoleum.

DeSALVO, MARGARET BERGERON
Mrs. Margaret Bergeron DeSalvo, 93 years old of Ponchatoula, died Monday,
November 19, 2007 in North Oaks Medical Center.  She was born on Wednesday,
September 16, 1914 in Des Allemands, Louisiana, daughter of the late Neil
and Lillian Torres Bergeron.  Surviving are her 2 sons, Donald J. DeSalvo
Sr., Michael A. DeSalvo Sr.; 2 daughters, Loretta A. DeSalvo, Jackie D.
Hodges; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Alma McLaughlin
and her brother, Raymond Bergeron.  She is preceded in death by her
husband, Jack A. DeSalvo and 3 brothers, Neil ³Blackie² Bergeron, Percy
Bergeron and Roy Bergeron.  Friends will be received Friday, November 23,
2007 from 8:00 am until 10:15 am at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home
in Ponchatoula.  Services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on
Friday, November 23, 2007 at 10:30 am.  Interment will follow in the
Ponchatoula Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family request Memorial
Masses be made at St Joseph Catholic Church.  Condolences may be e-mailed

DeSALVO, MARY CATALANO 
Mary Catalano DeSalvo, 84, of Independence, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006,
at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. She was born Sept. 9, 1921, in
Independence, the daughter of the late Vito and Modesta "Maurice" DeSalvo
Catalano. She was a retired assembly line employee with Elmer's Candy Co.,
Ponchatoula. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Bud"
DeSalvo; sister, Bessie DeSalvo; and brother, Anthony "Tony" Catalano. She
is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Vincent J. and Sharon DeSalvo;
granddaughter, Brittany DeSalvo; and grandson, Reed DeSalvo, all of Baton
Rouge; four sisters, Louise Lopinto and Lena "Pat" Vitrano, both of
Independence, Anna Tardo of Metairie, and Margaret Yousko of Berkeley
Heights, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at
Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, on Wednesday, Jan. 25, from 
8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Mater Dolorosa Catholic
Church, Independence, at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Paul McDuffie,
celebrant. Entombment in Colonial Cemetery Mausoleum, Independence. E-mail
