DESPLAS, NORMAN CARL
Mr. Norman Carl Desplas, 79 years old of Ponchatoula, died Saturday, July
19, 2008 at his residence.  He was born on Sunday, October 28, 1928 in New
Orleans, son of the late Charles Edward and Florence Appel Desplas Sr.
He was a retired Iron Worker and member of the Local 58, New Orleans, LA.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Geraldine Long Desplas; daughter,
Katherine D. Lambert; 2 sons, Norman C. Desplas Jr., William L. Desplas; 5
grandchildren, Ronald VanAmpting Jr., Christopher Desplas, Savannah D.
Wilkerson, Johannah Desplas, Steven Desplas; 2 great-granddaughters, Lailah
and Zoe; 1 sister, Una Mae Dugas and a sister-in-law, JoAnne Brisset.
He is preceded in death by 4 brothers, Edward Desplas, Charles Desplas Jr.,
Hilbert Desplas, Malcolm Desplas; sister, Millie Buisson.  Friends will be
received Tuesday, July 22, 2008, from 11:00 am until the service begins at
3:00 pm at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula.  Interment
will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery in Ponchatoula.  An on-line Guestbook
