He was a native and resident of Hammond and retired from Louisiana Dept. of Transportation and Development. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Lena Alack DiBenedetto; son and his wife, Joey and Elaine DiBenedetto; granddaughter, Tori DiBenedetto; 2 sisters, Petress DiBenedetto and Rosie Nuccio; and 3 brothers, Frank, Tony, and Pete DiBenedetto. He was the father of Christopher T. diBenedetto, Craig B. diBenedetto, Catherine diBenedetto Simpson and father-in-law of Joseph P. Simpson. He was the brother of Virginia diBenedetto, brother-in-law of Pamela and William T. Phillpott and uncle of Natalie diBenedetto Newton, Darren diBenedetto, William J. Phillpott II, and Kenneth Phillpott. He was the son of the late Louise Rodrigue diBenedetto and John Joseph diBenedetto. Mr. diBenedetto was born and raised in New Orleans, LA but has been a resident of Hammond, for the last 30 years. He was a graduate of St. Peter & Paul Elementary School, St. Aloysius High School and Southeastern Louisiana University. He was a retiree from the Federal Aviation Administration (Louis Armstrong Airport) and had a military retirement from the Louisiana Air National Guard.
