He is survived by his wife, Ruthie Dell Rodgers of Coles; six sons, Larry Curtis, Charles, William and Robert Dickens, all of Crosby, Jerry and Herman Dickens, both of Gloster, Miss.; five daughters, Debra Dickens, Terry Galtney, both of Crosby, Vickie Brown of Kirby, Miss., Mary Lewis of Ponchatoula and Sheletha Bentley of Coles; three brothers, Charlie and Johnnie Dickens, both of Crosby, and David Dickens of Ponchatoula; 32 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Bill Dickens and Mary Terrell Dickens; and one son, Bobby Joe Dickens. Burial was Saturday at Williams Cemetery, Mount Nebo, Miss. She was 50. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home chapel, Ponchatoula, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 2 p.m. Sunday. Interment in Cooper Cemetery. Survived by her husband, the Rev. John W. Dickens; two daughters, Jennifer Dickens Saing and Jodi Dickens; three sons, Johnny Dickens, Jeffrey Dickens and Jordan Dickens; and parents, Robert and Irma Joiner Bardwell, all of Ponchatoula; two brothers, Robert Bardwell Jr., Ponchatoula, and Ronald Bardwell, Greensburg; and two grand- children, Chaule Elaine and Jinnia Saing. Preceded in death by grand- parents, Emmitt and Ella Frey Bardwell and Eli and Thelma Shelton Joiner; and a brother, Johnny Ralph Bardwell.
