She was born Jan. 14, 1922, in New Orleans, to the late Jeanne Anna Piquet and J. Harry Warner Jr. and was a resident of Baton Rouge for the past 35 years. She was the beloved wife of the late E.F. "Dee" Diedrich for more than 62 years, sister and sister-in-law of Harry A. Warner and June Gilreath Warner, Jean Warner Schoen and Gary T. Schoen, and J.P. Warner and Valerie Smith Warner, all of Covington, and the late Shirley Warner Schoen and the late Cyprian J. "Cyp" Schoen, and the late Dorothy Ann Warner. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved and cared for her, particularly Mark W. Schoen and his family, of Baton Rouge; others include Jeffrey D. Schoen, Gary T. Schoen Jr. and Glenn P. Warner, all of Covington; Preston W. Schoen, of Mandeville; Stephen W. Schoen, of Denver; and Ann Courtney Warner, of Hammond; George H. Diedrich III, Diane D. Badeaux, Glenn J. Diedrich, Elizabeth D. Gros, all of Thibodaux; and Robert J. Diedrich, of Baton Rouge. "Lee-Lee," as she was affectionately known, will be sadly missed by Mark's three boys, Brad, Hunter and Drew Schoen, who loved her as their grandmother. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Liturgy of the Word on Thursday, May 13, at 11 a.m. from E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington. Diedrich, known as "Dee," died on Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, at St. James Place in Baton Rouge. He was born April 5, 1922, in New Orleans to the late Eleanor Aoueille and George H. Diedrich, who were of Covington. He was a resident of Baton Rouge for the past 30 years. He is survived by his loving wife of more than 62 years, Alida Warner Diedrich; as well as his in-laws, namely, Jean Warner Schoen and Gary T. Schoen, June Gilreath Warner and Harry A. Warner, and Valerie and J.P. Warner, all of Covington. His brother, George H. Diedrich Jr., preceded him in death, but Dee is survived by his sister-in-law (George's wife), Ouida Mai Frost Diedrich, of Thibodaux. Many nieces and nephews loved and cared for him, particularly Mark W. Schoen and his family, all of Baton Rouge; others include Jeffrey D. Schoen, Gary T. Schoen Jr. and Glenn P. Warner, all of Covington, Preston W. Schoen, of Mandeville, Stephen W. Schoen, of Denver, Ann Courtney Warner, of Hammond, George H. Diedrich III, Diane D. Badeaux, Glenn J. Diedrich and Elizabeth D. Gros, all of Thibodaux, and Robert J. Diedrich, of Baton Rouge. "Dee-Dee," as he was affectionately known, will be sadly missed by Mark's three boys, Brad, Hunter and Drew Schoen, who loved him as their grandfather. Mr. Diedrich's 30-plus years as a mechanical engineer and executive with Ethyl Oil Corp. took him around the globe. He built and managed production facilities in California, Canada, Greece and Virginia before ending his career in Baton Rouge as a real-estate consultant. A graduate of Lyon High School in Covington and LSU, he served his country as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army and earned the Purple Heart while fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Liturgy of the Word on Saturday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. Private committal rites will be held at a later date at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington.
