She was born Feb. 24, 1914, in Amite, the daughter of the late John and Zina Caborchi Dominick and wife of the late Sam DiMattia. She was a former co-owner of Dande Food Store and a strawberry farmer. She is survived by a son, Sammie DiMattia of Loranger; two daughters, Mary Catherine "Katy" Bittola of Tickfaw and Zina DePaula of Hammond; nine grandchildren, Robert James Bittola, Karen Bittola Lewis, Peggy Bittola Arnold, Michael Francis Bittola, Christopher Russell Bittola, Elizabeth Ann DePaula Cascio, Sharon Lynn DePaula, Tammy DiMattia Ballard and Lisa DiMattia Brown; seven great-grandchildren and a great- great-grandson. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Rosie Reid, Josephine Baham and Mary Florane; two brothers, Steve and Joe Dominick; a grandson and a great-great-grandson. Surviving are her husband, Guy DiMattia; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Samuel Magliolo; son and daughter-in-law, Sal and Alexis Johnson DiMattia; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Rene Vilardo, and brother, Tony Canzoneri.
