Age 84, a native of New Orleans and resident of Ponchatoula, Max passed away on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 at North Oaks Medical Center. Max was a #1 light weight contender, inducted in the boxing hall of fame in California, as well as, a referee and judge in the New Orleans boxing matches at the Municipal Auditorium and assisted young boys who wanted to become boxers with the New Orleans Athletic Club. In 1949, Max won the championship light weight boxing match in California. He was also a member of Christian Life Assembly of God, where he served as an usher. Max leaves behind his wife, Rowena Bordelon Docusen; daughters, Karen McMillion (Jack), Susan Miller (Michael); son, Rev. Max Docusen, Jr. (Melody), along with six grand- children and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Danny and Charles Docusen, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Max in death were his parents, Regino, Sr. and Viola Lytel Docusen; three brothers, Regino, Jr., Bernard and Nolan Docusen. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home in Ponchatoula on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and again on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. Rev.
