He was 57, born Sept. 22, 1950, and a U.S. Army veteran. Survived by his wife of 26 years, Penny Elizabeth Dreher, of Jackson; son, Donald Cory Dreher, of Pride; three stepchildren, Barry Spillman, of Salina, Calif., Cathy Spillman, of Independence, and Mac Adam Spillman, of Lafayette; six grandchildren; mother-in-law, Billie Yersavich, of Baton Rouge; and close friend, "Big Chief" Henry Frank, of Jackson. Preceded in death by his parents, Donald Alvin Dreher and Pauline Cochran Dreher; and a brother, Michael Ashton Dreher. Born Feb. 23, 1914, she was 93 and retired from South Bell T & T and Wilson Fire Tower. Visiting at Wilson Community Church, Wilson, on Saturday, Jan. 19, from noon until religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Alvin Hall. Interment in Eastern Star Cemetery, Wilson. She is survived by two daughters, Helen Gail Nichols, of Montgomery, Ala., and Janice Lynett Caston, of Amite; a son, Lawrence L. Dreher, of Centreville; seven grandchildren, 13 great- grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl Wilton and Essie Evelyn Stegall Friday; husband, Lee Andrew Dreher; and two brothers, Jack Hillard Friday and Wilton Dean Friday. She was surrounded by her husband, children, pastor and her very special physician. Mom was born in St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada, on May 20, 1926, and died 80 years later. She was a longtime resident of Amite. Mom and Pop celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 27, 2006. They met and married when Red was stationed in the military. Until the time she died, had she been capable enough to respond, she would tell you she was not sick and then ask about her many friends, always putting them first. Her family, which included so many others not related, will always remember the birthday cards she sent every year and the special efforts she made to show her appreciation and love. Mom is survived by her husband, John K. Dreher Sr.; a son, John K. Dreher Jr. and his wife, Susan; and three daughters, Noma Ann Newell, Jerry Laciura and her husband, Anthony J. Laciura, and Ginger Battalora. Also among her survivors are 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and so very many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Ann Power; a grandson, Joshua Cole Battalora; and a son-in-law, Herman Newell. Visitation will be held at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, on Thursday, Nov. 23, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Friday from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Funeral service at First Baptist Church of Amite at 11 a.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev.
