He was the beloved and devoted husband of 54 years of Lucille Albin Duczer; and a thoughtful and caring father of Cynthia Duczer Cason and Delton Cason, Darlene Duczer Burns and Jim Burns and Claudia Duczer Venezia and Joey Venezia; and a kind and fun-loving grandfather of Steven Kip, John Wylie, Kathryn Elisabeth, Adam Joseph and Benjamin George. Also survived by eight great-grand- children; two sisters, Annie Chaucer and Mary Blahut; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by his father, Mike Duczer, and mother, Mary Oros Duczer; two brothers, Alex and Mike; two sisters, Lizzie and Helen; and granddaughter, Jennifer Leigh. Visitation at Geisler Funeral Home, 28520 La. 43, Albany, from 9 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. Wednesday. Mass at St. Margaret Catholic Church, Albany, at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Entombment in Greenlawn Mausoleum in Hammond. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer's Foundation. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge): 8/18/2006 DUCZER, MIKE JOSEPH, III Mike Joseph Duczer III died on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, at his home in Summit, Miss. He was a native of Hungarian Settlement, a U.S. Navy retiree and a former pipe fitter. Visitation at Hungarian Presbyterian Church in Albany on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Lane Stevenson. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Dolores Duczer of Summit; son, John Duczer of Independence; daughter, Pamela Michelle Fraering of Marrero; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Michelle Creasy of Denham Springs and Kelly Burris of Jackson, Miss.; brother, Robert Duczer of Baton Rouge; and three sisters, Rosemary Spalitta of Hammond, Shirley Vollenweider of Roswell, Ga., and Pat Lowe of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by a son, Barry Duczer; and his parents, Mike Joseph Duczer Jr. and Elizabeth Berey Duczer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building funds of Albany Hungarian Presbyterian Church or the J.J. White Memorial Presbyterian Church in McComb, Miss.
