He was a native of New Orleans. He is survived by two sons, Kevin Dufrene Jr. and Jeffrey Dufrene; one sister, Marie Cooper; two brothers, Glenn Dufrene Sr. and Craig Dufrene; grandchildren and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Bernetta Whipple Dufrene; and one brother, Allen Dufrene. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home of Norco. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Carter Dufrene of Independence; two daughters, Charlotte Dufrene Smith and Charmian Mulkey, both of Independence; four sisters, Dorothy Rogers of Marrero, Evelyn Lee and Enola Dufrene, both of Westwego, and Bert Stroger of Franklinton; four brothers, Manuel Dufrene of Independence, Earl Dufrene of Marrero, J.D. Dufrene of Dexter, Miss., and Riley Dufrene of Campti; and five grand- children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edith T. and Sylvester Dufrene; two brothers, Silas and Joseph Dufrene; and two sisters, Wilma Plaisance and Ruby Mathern. Visitation will be today at Geisler Funeral Home, Albany, from 6 to 11 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until the funeral at 11. The Rev. Gene Simpkin, the Rev. Oscar Roark and the Rev. Pat Miller will conduct the service. Burial will be in Colonial Cemetery, Independence. ***************************************************************************
