He was 81 and a native of Foxworth, Miss. Survived by his wife, Iva Lee Townsend Dunnaway, Hammond; a daughter, Norma Dunnaway Blanton, Spartanburg, S.C.; three sisters, Verlie Mae Sumrall, Columbia, Miss., Josephine Miller, Atlanta, and Iva Lee Allen, North Carolina; and two grandchildren, Meghan Blanton and Matthew Blanton, both of Spartanburg. Preceded in death by his parents, Clifton E. and Etta M. Dunnaway; six brothers and two sisters. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II from 1941 to 1945, having served in five major battles including the Normandy Invasion and D-Day. He was a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church and a deacon for 47 years. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home chapel, Hammond, from 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Leon Dunn. Interment in Arcola-Roseland Cemetery. ***************************************************************************
