A retired electrical supervisor with Dibert, Bancroft & Ross steel mill and a resident of Prairieville, he died at 1:05 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 78 and a native of Rayne. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Wednesday, April 26, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville, on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until religious service at 10:30 a.m. Entombment in Hope Haven Mausoleum, Prairieville. He is survived by his wife, Lelia Lanclos Dupont, Prairieville; daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Ike Carpenter, Prairieville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Clovis Jr. and Nancy Dupont, Kenner, and Donald and Carolyn Dupont, Amite; four sisters, Eula Vincent, Flo Landry and Nedia LaChaussee, all of Lafayette, and Yvonne Richard, Breaux Bridge; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Celine Boudreaux Dupont; three sisters, Adele Broussard, Anita Bernard and Irene Dupont; two brothers, Camille and Emile Dupont; and grandson, Jason Dupont. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge) on: 11/4/2013 DUPONT, DELMAS Delmas Dupont , 91 years old of Hammond, Louisiana, formerly of Ponchatoula passed away Saturday, November 2, 2013, at Landmark Nursing Center. Delmas was born on Saturday, September 16, 1922, in Ponchatoula. Delmas loved to hunt, he was a member of The Bible Missionary Church of Ponchatoula, and a farmer for most of his life. Surviving are daughters, JoAnne Baiamonte (Vincent), Charlene Miller (Ronald), and Cheryl Dupont, sons, Kenneth Dupont (Carolyn), J.V. Dupont (Anna), Wayne Dupont (Dianne), Donald Dupont (Vickie), Garyel Dupont, Mike Dupont (Allison), also survived by 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and, 2 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by wife, Thelma Lee Mixon Dupont, parents, Van Dupont and Marie Gitz Dupont, granddaughter, April Dupont Strahan, sister, Norma Milton, brother, John Allen, and also an infant daughter. Friends will be received Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Hammond.
