DWYER, DANIEL KERRIGAN, SR. 
A resident of Baton Rouge, he died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at his home. He
was 71 and a native of Ponchatoula. Visitation at Welsh Funeral Home, 6700
Florida Blvd., from 10 a.m. Tuesday until services at 2 p.m. Interment in
Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He was born Nov. 8, 1929, in New Iberia. He
graduated from Ponchatoula High School in 1946 and American Institute of
Banking. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served on the USS Valley Forge
from 1948 to 1949, and he served in the Naval Reserve from 1949 to 1955. He
was a loan officer and vice president of personal loans at Louisiana
National Bank, and served as the manager of Louisiana Leasing Corp. He was
a lobbyist for Louisiana Banking and was instrumental in getting the "Truth
in Lending" legislation passed in 1972. He is survived by four daughters,
Bridget D. Lamartiniere of Shreveport, Robyn D. Verbois and husband Keith
Verbois and Kathy D. Ogden and husband Scott Ogden, all of Baton Rouge, and
Nancy D. McCaa and husband Jay McCaa of Walnut Creek, Calif.; two sons,
Daniel Kerrigan Jr. and wife Lynn P. Dwyer of Baton Rouge and Wilton Keith
Dwyer of Tampa, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Kaci and Jennifer McCaa, Kristen
and Ryan Dwyer, Caleb and Jared Verbois, Dillon Lamartiniere and Scotty and
Olivia Ogden; and former wife, Wilma Haydell Dwyer. Preceded in death by
his parents, Lawrence Rees Dwyer and Mary Hebert Dwyer; and a sister,
Katherine "Kay" McMurray. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be
made to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.
