DYESS, BOBBIE JEAN
A native of Collins, Miss., she passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at 
her home in Pine Grove at age 76. She was a longtime member of Faith 
Baptist Church, Baker, and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Holden. 
Visitation at Seale Funeral Home, Livingston, on Thursday, April 28, from 
6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home chapel Friday, 
April 29, from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m., conducted by 
Brother Roger Dunlap. Burial in Housley Family Cemetery, Amite. Survived by 
her husband, Scott Hilton Dyess; daughters, Bobbie Sheryl and husband James 
Murphy Housley, and Nancy Lynn Ramsey and her fiancˇ, Billy Courville; son 
and daughter-in-law, Terry Scott and Susan Marie Dyess; sister, Polly 
Turan; brother, Leroy Loper; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren 
and a great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by her parents, Gideon and 
Marie Loper; sisters, Versie Leggett, Mamie "Dimple" Loper, Kittie Ford and 
Patsy Loper; and brothers, J.D., Bo, Diamond, Bill, Troy and Wendy Loper.

DYESS, VERA VIOLA BEALL 
A resident of Denham Springs, she died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at Summit
Hospital, Baton Rouge. She was 89 and a native of Hazlehurst, Miss.
Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home chapel, Ponchatoula, from 
5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. Visitation at Jerusalem Baptist Church, Pumpkin
Center, from 10 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Friday. Interment
in Jerusalem Cemetery, Pumpkin Center. Survived by two daughters, Helen
Traylor Forrest, Pumpkin Center, and Billie Rae Burnett, Denham Springs; a
son, Dr. Jerry Dyess, Shreveport; six brothers, Prentis Beall, Winfred
Beall, Dennis Beall, Lee Beall, Jack Beall and George Curtis Beall, all of
Mississippi; and two sisters, Ruby Beall and Minnie Beall Wooten, both of
Mississippi. Preceded in death by her husband, Johnny W. Dyess; a daughter,
Johnnie Mae Welch; four brothers, Otto, L.L., Ray and Rowan Beall; and two
sisters, Mary Lee McCarroll and Pearl McCardle.
