Albert W. Eady Dies - Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for Albert W. Eady, who died Friday night following a long illness. Mr. Eady was a former mill worker and the father of Ashford Eady, well known football star and all-state half-back of 1931. He was the son of the Rev.and Mrs. Frank Eady and born August 5, 1865, near Franklinton, and later lived in Kentwood. In 1897 he united with the Pleasant Hill Baptist church, which faith he retained through life. In 1910 he married Mrs. Dessie Clark who, with several children survive him. Funeral services were held from his late residence on the New Orleans highway at 4:00 o'clock Saturday, February 25 and were conducted by the Rev. Fred B.Bookter. The pall bearers were Milton Baham, Will Drott, Ulain McLaurin, Joe Robichaux, Herbert Yokum and William Hawkins, all former classmates of Ashford Eady. Prof. Jack Vaughan and other former classmates of Ashford Eady attended the funeral in a body. Interment was made in the Ponchatoula cemetery. Besides his widow, Mr. Eady is survived by the following children: Ashford, George, Myrtle, H.C., Mable, Carol and Dempsey; two sons by a former marriage, Frank and Willie Eady, and three step daughters, Mrs. Bill Knoll, Mrs. Linnie Poche and Mrs. Donna Harper. ******************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate on: 8/17/2000 EADY, ELSIE FAY MORRIS A resident and native of Hammond, she died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, at Landmark Living Center, Hammond. Entombment in Parklawn Memorial Mausoleum. Stanley Day with burial in Ponchatoula Cemetery. She was 57, a native of Bogalusa and a resident of Ponchatoula. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Erlene Thompson and Mrs. LeAnn Lee, both of Ponchatoula; three sons, Rene McLin, Jr. and George A. Eady, both of Ponchatoula, and Gary R. McLin of Metairie; two brothers, Richard M. Bard of Bogalusa and Charles R. Bard of Virginia and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Rene McLin, Sr. and her second husband George V. (sic) Eady. He served his country in World War II in the U.S. Army Air Forces. He served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army and again in the U.S. Air Force. Brookhaven, Miss. - Kenneth Egerton Eady Jr., 86, died Saturday, March 1, 2003, at the University Medical Center. He was a native of Hammond and owned a floor business and skating rink. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and a Merchant Marine in World War II. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Eady of Brookhaven; two sons, Kenneth Walter Eady of Rogerville, Mo.; and David Earl Eady of Seattle, Wa.; two daughters, Debbie Parkman of Brookhaven, and Eloise Eady of Atlanta, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Egerton Eady Sr. and Mary Ann "Mamie" McDaniel Eady; first wife, Helen Marie Eady; two brothers, Herman, Harold and John Eady; three sisters, Inez O'Neil, Oline Addison and Anita Newman. Visitation will be Tuesday at First Church of the Nazarene from 5 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the funeral at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Easthaven Cemetery.
