She had been a resident of Hammond from 1952 until moving to Covington in 1999 residing there with her daughter. Following Hurricane Katrina's damages she went to Ruskin and was there at her death. She was one of Billups Petroleum Co.'s original employees. She was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, serving as a eucharistic minister and volunteer for the church. She is survived by three children, R.M. "Bob" (Jan) Echols of Picayune, Miss.; M.V. "Jenny" (Frank, deceased) Bankston, Covington; Delores E. (George, deceased) Todd, Ruskin; daughter-in-law, Joyce A. Echols, Metairie; a sister, Lucy May Byers, Indio, California; grand- children, Gayle (Leslie) Levenson, Metairie; F.B. "Chip" (Jayne) Bankston and Jennifer B. (Allen) Buras of Covington; Brenton H. (Jan Turk) Bankston of New Orleans; Rhonda (Drew) Freeman, Bradenton, Florida; Adam (Sandy) Ripley, St. Paul Minnesota; Waide (Laurie) Echols, Robin (Russell) Hardy, Todd Echols, Nancy E. Bosch, all of Slidell; Dean (Michelle) Echols, Mandevile; Bradley (Michelle) Echols, Pearl River; Patrick (Michelle) Echols, Lacombe; 23-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Gerorge and Annie Laura Green of Little Rock, Arkansas; husband, B.W. Echols, son, EW "Bud" Echols, Metairie; grandson, Bradford Waide Bankston, Covington; four sisters and two brothers of Little Rock, Arkansas. A memorial Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Edward Everett on Saturday, August 18, 2007, 1 p.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Hammond. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Life Path Hospice, 3725 Upper Cree, Dr., Ruskin, Florida 33573 or Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond. ***************************************************************************
