EDENFIELD, ERNEST 
A resident of Kentwood, he died at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1998, at his 
home. He was 64 and a native of Norfield, Miss. Visiting was held at McKneely 
Funeral Home, Kentwood, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday. Visiting at the funeral 
home, 8 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. 
Blake Shipp. Interment in Tangipahoa Cemetery, Tangipahoa. Survived by wife, 
Marilyn V. Edenfield, Kentwood; two sisters, Christine Varnado, Baton Rouge, and 
Clara Mae Morris, Franklinton; and two brothers, Johnny Edenfield, Tangipahoa, 
and Jake Edenfield Jr., Naples, Italy. Preceded in death by parents, Jake 
Edenfield Sr. and Nellie Easley Edenfield; and two brothers, Roy Edenfield and 
Earl Edenfield.

EDENFIELD, JOHNNY 
A resident of Kentwood, he died at 7:34 a.m. Friday, March 12, 1999, at Kentwood 
Manor Nursing Home, Kentwood. He was 51 and a native of Tangipahoa. Visiting at 
McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and after 9 a.m. 
Sunday. Religious services at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday, conducted by 
the Rev. Otis Hope. Interment in Tangipahoa Cemetery, Tangipahoa. Survived by 
two sisters, Christine Varnado, Denham Springs, and Clara Mae Morris, 
Franklinton; and a brother, Jake Edenfield Jr., Naples, Italy. Preceded in death 
by parents, Jake Sr. and Nellie Easley Edenfield; and three brothers, Roy, Earl 
and Ernest Edenfield.

EDENFIELD, MARILYN DAY 
Marilyn Day Edenfield died at 9:50 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, at Kentwood
Manor Nursing Home in Kentwood. She was 69, a native of Corinth, Miss., and
a resident of Kentwood. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, on
Monday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until religious
service at 11 a.m. Interment in New Zion Cemetery, Kentwood. She is
survived by a daughter, Jill Day Brabham and special friend Kyle LeBlanc of
Baton Rouge; two sons and daughters-in-law, Shelton and Carla Birch Day and
Tommy and Sherry Felker Day, all of Kentwood; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-
grandchildren; and five brothers and sisters, Cora Easterling, Billy Ray
Pounds, Fannie Phillips, Daisy Smith and Evelyn Liebert. She was preceded
in death by her first husband, Charlie Monroe Day; second husband, Ernest
Edenfield; birth parents, George and Ella Mae Jones; adoptive parents,
Smiley and Lucille Vest Varnado; and five brothers and sisters, Reathie
Russell and Cecil, Cleo, Bobby and L.D. Jones.
