He was a native of Bude, Miss., a longtime resident of Springfield, a retired control operator from Kaiser Aluminum and a member of Blood River Church of God in Springfield. He is survived by his wife, Cindy McKinney Edwards of Springfield; three daughters, Sharon Kennedy and Vicky Coats, both of Springfield, and Elaine Graves of Watson; two brothers, Sam Edwards Jr. of Whitehall and Glenn Edwards of Springfield; three sisters, Sally Hill and Catherine Davis, both of Ponchatoula, and Glenda June Becnel of Independence; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Edwards Sr. and Louise Hoover Edwards; and an infant brother, Jimmy Edwards. Visitation will be Tuesday at Blood River Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith, Springfield, from 8 a.m. until the Rev. Jim Shaull conducts the funeral at 11:30. Miller of Springfield; three brothers, Thomas Winder of Springfield, Sam Winder Jr. of Ponchatoula, and Nathan Winder of Albuquerque, N.M. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brothers and sisters. Visitation will be Sunday at Progressive Baptist Church, White Castle, from 5 p.m. until the funeral at 7. The Rev.
