ELDER, JOHNNIE LOU HELTON 
Johnnie Lou Helton Elder, 71, died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at Belle Maison 
Nursing Home. A native of Clewiston, Fla., she is survived by one daughter, 
Patricia Summers of Hammond; one son, Joseph E. Elder Jr. of Clewiston; three 
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 
husband, Joseph E. Elder; and her parents, John Peter Helton and Beaulah Feilds 
Helton. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Akin Davis Funeral Home, 
Clewiston. The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Ridgelawn 
Cemetery Clewiston.

ELDER, MARTIN W.  
Amite - Martin W. Elder, 53, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, at his home near 
Amite. He was a native of Independence, a self-employed salesman and a U.S. Army 
Vietnam veteran. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Guichet Elder of Amite; two 
daughters, Tonya Elder Milton and Jenny Elder Anthony, both of Amite; one sister, 
Judy Elder Worley of Houston; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death 
by his mother, Carrie Mulina Elder; and two brothers, Thomas Rutland and Raymond 
"Gene" Rutland. Visitation will be today at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 
to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until Don McGee conducts the funeral at 11. 
Burial will be in Amite Memorial Gardens, Amite.
