ELLARD, SYLVIA JEAN PHILLIPS
A resident of Hammond, she died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at North Oaks Medical 
Center, Hammond. She was 49 and a native of Phoenix. Visitation at Harry 
McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday and 
after 8 a.m. Wednesday. Religious services in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. 
Wednesday. Interment in Ponchatoula Cemetery. Survived by a daughter, Angelia 
Nell Ellard Smith, Ponchatoula; two grandchildren, Kaytlin Jean and Patrick 
Austin Smith, both of Ponchatoula; husband, William "Bill" Ellard, Natalbany; 
three sisters, Connie Phillips Ochsner, Robert, Joanne Phillips Holmes, Mount 
Hermon, and Sheryl Phillips Pinion, Hammond; and a brother, Michael Phillips, 
Biloxi, Miss. Preceded in death by parents, Trescca Baily and Mary Nell Stewart 
Phillips; a grandson, Robert Smith; and grandparents, Spencer and Temple 
Phillips and Simpson and Eula Stewart.

ELLARD, WILLIAM LAWRENCE "BILL"
A resident of Hammond, he died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at his home. He was 62 
and a native of Ponchatoula. Visitation at Calvary Pentecostal Church, Hammond, 
from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday. Religious service at the church at 11 a.m. 
Tuesday. Interment in Ponchatoula Cemetery. Survived by a daughter, Angela 
Smith, Hammond; and four grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia 
Phillips Ellard; parents, Jack and Lucille Cutrer Ellard; and a grandson, Robert 
Wade Smith. Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
