She was a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Joe S. Elliot; two daughters, Laura Jones and Leslie Elliot Smith; and three grandchildren. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on June 14, 1926, Ms. Elliot was the daughter of Charles and Mildred Seruntine and wife of Norbert L. Elliot, Jr. Mildred was raised in New Orleans and attended public schools there, working in AdlerÕs, a jewelry store in the city. She is survived by one son, Norbert L. Elliot, III, and his wife, Frances W. Elliot. Mildred leaves cherished memories for five grandchildren: Christian, Luke, Jessie, Nicholas, and Sophia. She will also be remembered by her three step-grandchildren, Kathryn, James, and Sarah. She was a member of Holy Ghost Parish in Hammond Louisiana, where she and her husband lived for fifteen years. In accordance with the wishes of a romantic life, her ashes will be scattered on Lake Pontchartrain. We shall not look upon her like again. Norbert Louis Elliot, Jr., has died. Beloved husband of the late Mildred Seruntine Elliot, Norbert was born on April 24, 1930 and raised in New Orleans. He served in the United States Air Force and worked at the American Can Company, as well as on the waterfronts of the city. Residents of Hammond, Louisiana, for fifteen years, Norbert and Mildred were devoted members of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, where he served as a Eucharistic minister. Norbert is survived by one son (Norbert, III), five grand- children (Christian , Luke, Jesse, Nicholas, and Sophia), and three step- grandchildren (Kathryn, James, and Sarah). A devoted husband and father, Norbert provided a sense of community for all he knew and loved. Friends will be received Tuesday, November 8, 2011 from 9:00 am until Mass begins at 11:00 am at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the St. Louis #3 Cemetery New Orleans, Louisiana.
