ELSON, SAM CLAYTON
Ponchatoula - Sam Clayton Elson, 67, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003.  He was a 
machine operator.  He is survived by three sisters, Helen Jackson, Hilda Greely 
and Hazel Randolph, all of Ponchatoula; two brothers, Louis Burkhalter of 
Compton, Calif., and Richard Leon Elson of Ponchatoula.  He was preceded in 
death by his parents.  Visitation will be tonight at Richardson Funeral Home, 
Hammond, from 6 to 8. The Rev. Mack McCraney will conduct the funeral Saturday 
at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, Ponchatoula, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in 
Ponchatoula Cemetery.
