She was a native of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and a resident of Hammond. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and Grace Memorial Episcopal Church. She enjoyed gardening, needlework and loved her friends and family. She is survived by: her husband of 62 years, Joel F. Epperson of Hammond, sons, Fred and Karen Epperson of Hammond, Tom Epperson of Fort White, Florida, Bob and Mary Ann Epperson of Hammond, daughters, Sally and Neal Thomason of West Monroe, Mary and Dan Brunson of Mangham, La., Sister, Lucille Nugent of Tioga, La., grandchildren, Trey and Emma Thomason of West Monroe, John and Sydney Brunson of Mangham, La., Joel Epperson of Hammond, Robin and Brooke Epperson of Mattituck, NY. She was preceded in death by, son, Hugh Epperson. Visitation will be at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church Parish Hall in Hammond on Saturday, March 10, 2007 from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Memorial Eucharist services will be held at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church in Hammond on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Memorial Episcopal Church Foundation , P.O. Joel Franklin Epperson Jr. was born on Nov. 6, 1917, in Nashville, Tenn., and grew up in Pass Christian, Miss. He passed away at age 90 on Friday, June 20, 2008, at his home in Hammond. Mr. Epperson retired from South Central Bell after 46 years. He was a member of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church and the Telephone Pioneers of America. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 until he was honorably discharged as a first lieutenant in 1946. He is survived by two sisters, Emma Shows, of Pass Christian and Ruth Dandrea, of Long Beach, Miss.; a daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Neal Thomason, of West Monroe; son and daughter-in-law, Fred Epperson and Karen Dubuisson, of Hammond; son, Thomas Epperson, of Fort White, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Dan Brunson, of Mangham; son, Bob Epperson and fiancée, Monique Abrams, of Hammond; seven grandchildren, Trey and Emma Thomason, Joel B. Epperson, Robin and Brooke Epperson, John and Sydney Brunson. Preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine Epperson; and son, Hugh B. Epperson. Memorial service at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church, Hammond, on Saturday, June 28, with visitation in the Parish Hall from 9 a.m. until Holy Eucharist at 10:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev.
