He was 71. Visiting at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, St. James, from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Samuel Jones. Burial in church cemetery. Survived by his wife, Irene Harris Ester, St. James; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Irene and Stephen Broden, Sandra and James Parker, Joann and Sidney Jones Jr., Gwendolyn Walter and Charlene Washington; seven sons and six daughters-in-law, Granville and Mary, John and Vonterrance, Joseph and Monica, Larry and Patrene, Terry and Cassandra, Tyrone and Myra, and Gary Ester; two sisters, Daisy Stewart and Jessie Mae Lee; a devoted friend, Sonya Robinson, Hammond; 41 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; an aunt, Ida Mae Schomberg; an uncle, Harden Cayette; a sister-in-law, Nellie Ester; a brother-in-law, Henry Lee; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, John Ester and Beatrice Melancon Ester; and a brother, Walter Ester.
