She was 72 and a native of Kentwood. Visiting at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 1 p.m. Saturday until religious services at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Dennis Mitchell. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, Kentwood. Survived by her husband, Thomas E. Ethridge, Biloxi; a daughter, Rebecca Skaggs Ladner, Biloxi; a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Sonja Skaggs, Mobile, Ala.; two stepdaughters, Mary Ann Jones and Sherry Powell, both of Pass Christian, Miss.; three brothers, Hubert and Bobby Yarborough, both of Kentwood, and Roy Yarborough, Hammond; four grandchildren, Scott Ladner, Shannon Ladner, Trey Skaggs and Adam Skaggs; six stepgrandchildren, Meredith Jones, Preston Jones, Katie Powell, Brett Powell, Chris Ethridge and Aaron Ethridge. Preceded in death by her parents, Lanis and Pearl Yarborough; first husband, Jean T. She was 82, born Aug. 13, 1922, in Smithdale, Miss. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Steve Wells. Interment in Nettles Family Cemetery, Smithdale. She is survived by a son, Harold Ethridge Jr., Walker; three daughters, Lynn Hoover and Janey Duncan, both of Ponchatoula, and Tommie Korn, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two brothers, Earl Nettles, Springfield, and the Rev. James Nettles, Ponchatoula; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a foster son, Stephen Frutuoza, Franklinton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ethridge; parents, Charles and Dennie Mathews Nettles; and a grandson, Timothy Davis. She was a registered nurse for 50 years, a volunteer nurse for the American Red Cross and a foster mother. ********************************************************************************
