Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church of Tuscaloosa with Rev. Scott Thayer officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Gregory Louis "Greg" Falgoust was born on August 9, 1957, in Hammond, La. where he was a longtime resident until 2001, when he moved to Trussville, Ala. He earned an Associate Degree in Applied Science in the area of Design and Drafting Technology from Southeastern Louisiana University, and a Bachelors of Science from the University of Alabama. Greg was a supervisor for the Parks and Recreation Department of Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. Before he moved to Alabama, he was a life long member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and a deacon of the First Christian Church in Hammond, La. He was a gifted artist, and enjoyed playing in Gospel bands throughout Alabama. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was the dearly beloved brother of Margaret Koehler of Hammond, Barbara Falgoust Mennite of Highland Falls, N.Y., and Vanessa Jean Falgoust of Charlottesville, Virginia; the cherished friend and brother-in-law of Jospeh Koehler, Teddy Mennite and Alan Cox; and the beloved uncle of Amy Clifton Bamburg of Pineville, La. and Jean Clifton Hefner of Zirconia, N.C. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Hymel George Falgoust, Jr. and Juanita Jones Falgoust, both of Hammond, La. JR. "MEL" A resident of Hammond, he died at 8:45 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. He was 77 and a native of Vacherie. She was 73, born April 11, 1927, in Leflore County, near Greenwood, Miss. Visitation at First Christian Church, 305 E. Charles St., Hammond, from 8 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Monday. Entombment in Greenlawn Mausoleum, Hammond. She was the beloved wife of Hymel George Falgoust Jr. of Hammond, for 53 years; the beloved mother of four children, Margaret Clifton and Gregory Falgoust, both of Hammond, and Barbara Falgoust-Mennite and Vanessa Falgoust Cox, both of New York City; the beloved sister of Lillian Jones Ponce of Denton, Texas, and Mary Hunter Jones Carlton of Grenada, Miss.; and grandmother of Amy and Jean Clifton, both of Hammond. All survive her. She was a longtime member and a deaconess of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, in Hammond.
