She was born February 13, 1949, daughter of the late Bernard Charles and Saxon Shewalter McMurray. She worked as an account clerk for the Tangipahoa Parish School System, and was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church Choir. Surviving are her beloved husband, John Russell Farace and daughters, Bridget and Irene Farace, and daughter and son-in-law Laura and Lance Derise; eight sisters, Dr. Mary Anne McMurray, Arlene Elston, Margaret Cuccia, Barbara Opdenhoff, Rita McMurray, Marcia Selph, Joan Hoover, Irene Labue, and four brothers, Bernard, William, Fredrick, and Patrick McMurray. Friends will be received on Saturday, September 23, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ponchatoula from 9 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., conducted by Rev. Justin Kauchak, O.P. Religious services for John Farace, Sr., 83, were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. from Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Independence. Burial was in Colonial Cemetery. Mr. Farace, a resident of Independence, died March 16 at 8:15 a.m. at Touro Infirmary, New Orleans. He was the owner for 61 years of the Independence Produce Company, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, member of American Legion Post 109.
