FARMER, CHARLES EVERETT, SR.
Mr. Charles Everett Farmer Sr., 66 years old and a resident of Springfield, 
died Friday, Sept. 8, 2006, in North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. He was 
born Sunday, June 2, 1940, in Crystal Springs, Miss., son of the late 
Clarence and Cordell Calander Farmer. He worked as a painting contractor for 
more than 40 years. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Margaret Duke Farmer; 
three sons, Charles E. Farmer Jr., Slade Eric "Bubby" Farmer and Steven Lee 
"Tott" Farmer; daughter, Brenda Diane Luttmann; six grandchildren, Kayla 
Farmer, Mallarey Luttmann, Steven Lee Farmer Jr., Micah Dillon Farmer, 
Charles E. Farmer III and Caleb James Farmer; and two sisters, Barbara Jean 
Black and Debbie McGraw. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Lane 
Farmer; and sister, Frances Stubbs. Friends will be received Monday, Sept. 
11, from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. and on Tuesday, Sept. 12, from 8 a.m. until 
service at 10 a.m. at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, with the 
Rev. Steve Farmer officiating. Interment will follow in the Carter Cemetery,

FARMER, ELAINE MARIE PENTON 
Mrs. Elaine Marie Penton Farmer, 67, of Gadsden, AL, passed away Thursday, 
May 7, 2009. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Thompson Funeral 
Home in Piedmont, AL with burial following at Carmel Cemetery. She was 
preceded in death by her parents Thomas Dawson "TD" and Lily Head Penton, 
Sr of Kenner, LA, and brothers Thomas "Tom" Dawson Penton, Jr. of 
Franklinton, LA and Charles Robert "Bobby" Penton, Sr. of Hammond, LA. She 
is survived by her husband, Walter A. "Joe" Farmer, Sr., son Walter "Arnold" 
Farmer, Jr., daughter Telia Marie Farmer Hill, brother Gil Stephen Penton, 
and great-grandson Peyton D. Hill of Gadsden, AL. Visitation will be Monday 
from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
