FERGUSON, CHARLES E.      
Died at 4:56 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. 
He was 73, a native of Dallas, Ga., and a resident of Roseland. He was a U.S. 
Navy veteran during the Korean War. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, 
from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. 
Wednesday. Interment in Little Cemetery, Roseland. Survived by three daughters, 
Denice Sanders, Roseland, Chancey Cavaretta, Chesbrough, and Lisa Daley, Milton, 
Fla.; a son, Charles Ferguson, Kentwood; ex-wife, Ruby Ferguson, Chesbrough; 14 
grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris Carroll, Dallas; and a 
brother-in-law, Gene Henderson, Rockmart, Ga. Preceded in death by two sisters, 
Mag Henderson and Louise Simpson; a brother, J.W. Ferguson; and parents, Charlie 
and Effie Ferguson. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 12 and Grand 
Lodge of Georgia No. 97 F&AM, both of Rockmart.

FERGUSON, JOANNE S.
Baton Rouge - Joanne S. Ferguson died Monday, Sept. 4, 2000, at her home.  She 
was a native of Bogalusa.  Survivors include her husband, Harvey Ferguson; 
mother, Alene S. Kelly, both of Baton Rouge, daughter, Deidra Kolb, Greenwell 
Springs; two stepdaughters, Melanie Granger, Maurepas, Joni Nickens, Galvez; 
son, Dudley Patrick Patterson, Baton Rouge; three brothers, John Shivers, Baton 
Rouge, Donald Shivers, Albany, Richards Shivers, Orange City, Fla.; 10 grand-
children and five great-grandchildren.  The Rev. Garland Mizell conducted the 
funeral this morning at Greenoaks Funeral Home, Baton Rouge, and burial was in 
Greenoaks Memorial Park.

FERGUSON, HOWARD, JR.
A retired truck driver and resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 7:15 a.m. 
Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He 
was 73 and a native of Jackson. Visiting at Richardson Funeral Home, 
Clinton, Friday, Nov. 26, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Religious service at St. 
Paul No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, Nov. 27, at 11 a.m., 
conducted by the Rev. David Thomas. Interment in the church cemetery. He 
is survived by his wife, Arno Ferguson; three daughters, Janie Dunn and 
husband Jesse, of Jackson, Howadanette Ferguson and Christy Cage and 
husband Larry, of Baton Rouge; two sons, Barry Lee Harrell and wife Renea, 
of Magnolia, Miss., and Howard Earl Woods, of Amite; two sisters, Ida 
Ferguson and Odessa Dunn, of Jackson; four brothers, Burnell Ferguson, 
James Ferguson and Steve Ferguson, of Baton Rouge and Henry Ferguson, of 
Jackson; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death
by his parents, four brothers and a grandson.
