She was born on Wednesday, July 10, 1985, in Baton Rouge. Lacey was a graduate of Albany High School, where she was involved in many sports. She won numerous awards in track competitions, both locally and regionally. She was a member of the Northshore Transplant Group, having had two heart transplants. Lacey was loved and admired by her family and friends. She was loving and courageous and lived life to its fullest. Surviving are her mother and stepfather, Luora M. and Samuel Arthur; father, Michael George Ficklin and his fiancˇe, Sarah Kent; brother and sister-in-law, Benji Michael and Amanda Ficklin; sister, Lesley F. Eschete; step-brother, Matt Arthur; step-sister, Rebecca Valure; three nieces, Caroline Elise Eschete, Mackenzie Valure and Courtney Fife; three nephews, Mason Valure, Maguire Valure and Brandon Toups; and maternal grandmother, Eloise Smith McNabb. Preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Deforest Louis Ficklin; paternal grandmother, Myrtle Cutrer Fiorella; maternal grandfather, Benny McNabb; and brother-in-law, Justin Eschete. Friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, on Friday, May 15, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting continues at Greensburg United Methodist Church, Greensburg, on Saturday, May 16, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., with the Rev. "Gun" was 57, a native of Amite and longtime resident of Greensburg. He was a town councilman of Greensburg from 1980-1984, the mayor of Greensburg from 1984-1998 and the sheriff of St. Helena Parish from 1998-2007. "Gun" is survived by three daughters, Melissa Ficklin Clark and husband Cori, and Amanda Ficklin Mixon and husband Chad, all of Greensburg, and Alli Ficklin, of Hillsdale; a son, Ronald Jason Ficklin, of Greensburg; four grand- children, Nilaina Ficklin, Cy Mixon, Qway Clark and Jon Bang Clark; sister, Wanda Ficklin, of Greensburg; three brothers, Freddie Ficklin and wife Rennie, Mike Ficklin and wife Natalie, and Randy "Duke" Ficklin, all of Greensburg; companion, Paula Davidson McNabb; mothers of his children, Gail McNabb Domingue and Peggy Davis Ficklin; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
