Retired from the Louisiana State Employment Service, he was a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict, affiliated with the Mississippi National Guard where he retired after Desert Storm and a teacher with the Lawrence County School Board. He also served as post commander of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 4889 and was a member and past president of the Monticello Exchange Club. He was a Master Mason in Spring Creek Lodge 184. He is survived by his wife, Fay Fox Finch; one son, Joe Finch; two daughters, Holly Lathan and Christi Moss; four grandchildren; and one brother, James P. Finch.
