FINN, MELVIN
Amite -- Melvin Finn, 66, died Monday, May 17, 2004, at North Oaks Medical 
Center, Hammond.  He is survived by one son, Schirra Finn Sr. of Amite; two 
daughters, Samara Joseph and Tigia M. Finn, both of Amite; and four grand-
children.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Ora L. Finn; his mother, Bertha 
Finn; his father, Nelson Finn Sr.; and two brothers, Alfred Charles Finn and 
Nelson "Mickey" Finn Jr.  Visitation will be Friday at Richardson Funeral Home, 
Amite, from 5 to 8 p.m. The Rev. Francis Williams will conduct the funeral 
Saturday at 1 p.m. at Butler Chapel AME Church, Amite. Burial will follow the 
service at Butler Cemetery, Amite.

FINN, ORA L.
Amite - Ora L. Finn, 62, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003.  She was a native of 
Independence.  She is survived by her husband, Melvin Finn; one son, Schirra 
Finn Sr. of Amite; two daughters, Samara Joseph of Atlanta and Tigia M. Finn of 
Amite; two sisters, Elouise Steptoe of Independence and Lizzie Collins of New 
Orleans; and two brothers, Dan and Milton Garman, both of Peoria, Ill.; and 
three grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Loubertha Bell 
Garman; and her father, John Bunion Garman; one brother, Hilton Garman; and one 
sister, Lovie Thompson.  Visitation will be Friday at Richardson Funeral Home, 
Amite, from 5 to 9 p.m. The Rev. Francis Williams will conduct the funeral 
Saturday at Butler's AME Zion Church, Amite, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in 
Butler's Cemetery, Amite.  Memorial donations may be made to the Ora L. Finn 
Scholarship Fund, in care of Tigia M. Finn, 506 Richardson St., Amite 70422.
