FIORITO, MARY ELLEN TORTORICH 
Mary Ellen Tortorich Fiorito died on Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at the age of
80. She was the beloved wife of John K. Fiorito Sr., daughter of the late
Peter A. Tortorich Sr. and Annie McCarthy Tortorich, mother of Bonnie
Fiorito and John K. Fiorito Jr., sister of Dottie T. Clement and the late
Peter A. Tortorich Jr. and Timothy J. Tortorich and grandmother of Nicholas
J. Fiorito and Joshua M. Fiorito. Mrs. Fiorito was a member of AARP Chapter
1765, AARP Meraux Chapter 3851, a founding member of St. Robert Bellarmine
Altar Society, a member of Holy Cross Grandparents Association and loyal
follower of Holy Cross since 1940. She had been a current parishioner of
St. Helena Church in Amite. Mrs. Fiorito received the St. Louis award from
the Archdiocese of New Orleans on May 29, 1983. Relatives and friends of
the family are invited to attend a funeral Mass at Our Lady of Prompt
Succor Catholic Church, 2320 Paris Road, Chalmette, on Tuesday, May 23, at
noon. Visitation will be at the church Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until
funeral time. Interment will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. To
