Covington - Paul Earl Fitzmorris Sr., 80, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002. He was a native and resident of St. Tammany Parish. He is survived by four sons, Paul E. Fitzmorris Jr., Joseph Wayne Fitzmorris, Felder F. Fitzmorris and James Russell Fitzmorris; two daughters, Carolyn Fitzmorris Dupont and Brenda Fitzmorris Forester; one sister, Peggy Blackwell; 11 grandchildren and four great-grand- children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Fairburn Fitzmorris; one sister, Lucy Tisdale; and four brothers, Bob, Marvin, Johnny and Coleman Fitzmorris. Visitation will be today at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, Covington, from 7 to 10 p.m. The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Bruhl Cemetery. ************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge) on: 3/9/2003 FITZMORRIS, S. NEWMAN "GRAMP" A resident of Ponchatoula, he died Friday, March 7, 2003, at his home. He was 83 and a native of Covington. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Visitation at First United Methodist Church, Ponchatoula, from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Bob Deich. Interment in Ponchatoula Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Louise "Lou" Ragan Fitzmorris, Ponchatoula; two sisters, Gilda Jenkins, Bush, and Mary Jenkins, Covington; a brother, William "Bill" Fitzmorris, Covington; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Deed and Nettie Brumfield Fitzmorris; and a brother, Joseph D. Fitzmorris. He was a former Ponchatoula city councilman and a board member, board adviser and past president (1991-1993) of the Ponchatoula Chamber of Commerce. He also served as the chamber's representative on the Strawberry Festival board, was the 1996 Citizen of the Year, and was a life member of the Ponchatoula Volunteer Fire Department. He was serving as president of the committee for a permanent veteran's memorial in Ponchatoula. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 47, Ponchatoula. Gramp was a member of First United Methodist Church, having served on the finance and church building committees and as youth councilor for 11 years, past president of administration board, Sunday school teacher, member of Methodist Men's Club, lay leader, Layman of the Year and delegate to Louisiana Conference. He was co-owner of S&F Auto Parts, Ponchatoula, Hammond, Independence and Covington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Covington - Wallace A. "Pete" Fitzmorris, 67, died Saturday, July 22, 2000. He was a native and resident of Covington. Survivors include his children, Keli Fitzmorris, Rebecca F. Root and Michael E. Fitzmorris, as well as a sister, Jennie F. Oalman, and two grandchildren. His siblings, Avery, Alton, Leonard, Benny, Eddie and Frederick Fitzmorris, Juliette Willette, Lillie Mae Fauntleroy and Helen Williams, preceded him in death. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m. and Friday from noon until the funeral at 2 p.m. at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, Covington. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation, P.O.
