Retired from the finance industry, he went to be with our Lord at 8:40 a.m. Sunday, July 6, 2003, at Tangi Pines Nursing Home in Amite. He was 69, born in Pineville, Ala., and a resident of Ponchatoula. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and in the chapel from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Greg Carroll. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Patsy Shepherd Flowers of Ponchatoula; a daughter, Cynthia Newsom and husband Thomas of Walker; two sons, Frank Flowers and wife Tammy of Pumpkin Center and David Flowers of Shreveport; two sisters, Lois Tee and Janice Cooper, both of Mobile, Ala.; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. She was 72 and a native of Sunflower County, Miss. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., was on Thursday, Feb. 22, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home chapel on Friday from 1 p.m. until religious service at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Greg Carrol officiating. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Rockwell Newsom and husband Tom of Walker; two sons, Frank Flowers and wife Tammy of Hammond/Ponchatoula, and David Flowers of Shreveport; two brothers, Bill Israel of Atlanta and Steve Israel of Mobile, Ala.; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
