Burial was in New Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, Baptist. She died Sunday, June 23, in North Oaks Medical Center. She was a Ponchatoula native and resident, a long time employee of Bill's Dollar Store in Ponchatoula, and was a member of French Corner Baptist Church. Survivors are three nephews, Ronald E. Anderson and Harry A. Anderson Jr. of Ponchatoula; and one niece, Ellen Ann Anthony of Princeton, Texas. ******************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge): 7/20/2009 FONT, NED ALBIN A resident of Albany for the past 12 years and a former resident of Holden for 30 years, Ned passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2009, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. He was 66 and a native of Baton Rouge. He was a former employee of Waste Management and a member of Doyle Baptist Church. Ned spent his life enjoying many things which included riding motorcycles, driving his 1948 Mercury "Daisy," flying airplanes, driving 18-wheelers cross-country and going on trail rides. Although he had many hobbies, his greatest joy was to be there for his family and friends and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. All it took was a phone call and he was there. Survived by his loving and devoted wife, Betty Ruth Font; two daughters, Deborah Font, and Melissa Balfantz and husband Sean; son-in-law, Patrick Lamonica; granddaughters, Andilyn, Samantha, Ashleigh and Ashtyn; faithful dog, Snoopy; and brothers, Pete Bankston, Billy Bankston and Edward Huff. Preceding Ned in death were his mother, Murl Jordan Creel; father, George Font; brothers, George and Teddy Font; and sister, Geraldine Hicks. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, west of Hammond, on Tuesday, July 21, at noon, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Carl Rushing. Interment in Gateway Gardens Memorial Park, Livingston.
