Mrs. Foret was 87, born Oct. 9, 1919, in Convent, and was a resident of Lutcher. Visitation at Rose Lynn Funeral Service, Lutcher, on Tuesday, May 29, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Entombment in St. Joseph Mausoleum. She is survived by five daughters, Jacquelyn F. Melancon, Hattiesburg, Miss., Peggy F. Harrington, Houma, Carolyn and husband Ralph Stephens, and Rebecca Foret, all of Lutcher, and Colette Brignac, Ponchatoula; and three sons and two daughters-in-law, Kenneth "Wop" and Brenda Dupuy Foret, Lutcher, Richard "Footy" and Bernice Monica Foret, Baton Rouge, and Ellis "Elka" Foret, Houma. She was a loving Maw Maw and Grand Maw Maw to 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Also surviving Mrs. Foret are three sisters, Pearl Hymel, LaPlace, and Beverly Anderson and Carmen Gaudet, both of New Orleans; and brother, Wilson Roussel, Baton Rouge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Buster" Foret III; son, Thomas "Tommy" Foret IV; parents, Morgan and Carmen Ayme Roussel; sister, Sister Mary Germain, O.P., (Earline); and brothers, Earl "Yo," Morgan and Wilhelm Roussel. Mrs. Foret was a retired Lutcher town clerk and former director of St. James Parish Council on Aging. She was a member of St. James AARP, St. Anne's Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post 5852 and Airline Homemakers Club. ***************************************************************************
